Explaining on Instagram: "Marvel Studios initially considered using a different song for the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, as securing the rights to Electric Light Orchestra’s “Mr. Blue Sky” proved difficult. The song was seen as a challenge both financially and logistically, putting pressure on the production to find an alternative. Director James Gunn firmly refused to change the track, arguing that no other song could capture the tone, rhythm, and emotional contrast of the openin
